MODALITIES TO ISSUE AND RENEW THE RESIDENCE CARD IN CAMEROON

The issuance of the residence card in Cameroon  in conformity with decree No. 2007/255/PM of 4 September 2007 fixing the modalities for the application of law No. 97/012 of 10 January 1997 relative to conditions of entry, stay and exit of foreigners is subject to the production by the foreigner of the following;

  • A certified photocopy dated less than three months of a valid passport bearing a long-stay visa.
  • A certificate of residence, issued by the administrative authority or the territorially competent police commissioner, bearing the prior and compulsory visa of the district or village chief.
  • An extract of the special criminal record.
  • A tax certificate or a receipt for the payment of the liberal tax or a certificate of residence.
  • Payment of the stamp duty as fixed by the finance law.
  • Proof of stay in accordance with article 31 of decree No. 2007/255/PM of 4 September 2007 fixing the modalities for the application of law No. 97/012 of 10 January 1997 relative to conditions of entry, stay and exit of foreigners.
  • The renewal of the residence/stay card is subject to the provision of the former residence/stay card at least one month before the expiration of validity and of all proof of stay documents.
  • The submission of an application to obtain or renew a residence permit gives rise to the issue of a receipt duly signed by the head of the department in charge of immigration, which is valid until the end of the application.
