According to chapter 4 of the 2014-revised edition of the OHADA Law, Every company shall have a purpose that consists of its area of activities, which must be defined and described in its articles of association.
Every company should have a lawful purpose.
When the company is engaged in a regulated activity, it should comply with specific regulations governing such activity.
The purpose may be changed, for each type of company, under the conditions outlined in the uniform Act for the amendment of the articles of association.
